Our interpreting services provide both private companies and the public sector with community interpreting. Usual community interpreting scenarios include, for instance, interpreting in different state or municipal agency offices or health care units. Interpreting in police questioning or at court is also often regarded as community interpreting. When you don’t have a common language, a community interpreter helps you with what you need to say. The purpose of community interpreting is to help take care of everyday matters and understand each other when, for instance, dealing with different authorities. When you order a community interpreter from a language service company, you have every reason to expect the interpreter to be a professional. With our interpreters, this is always the case as we have selected and tested each and every one of our interpreters according to our ISO 9001:2015 quality management system.
From our interpreting service, you can order ISO-certified community interpreting into more than 80 languages. Our interpreters always comply with The Finnish Association of Translators and Interpreters’ (SKTL) community interpreters’ Code of Ethics. The requirements of the interpreters’ Code of Ethics include impartiality, integrity and absolute professional secrecy, among other things. Thanks to our quality management system, we can ensure that our community interpreters have sufficient skills and training for delivering high-quality, professional community interpreting. Our community interpreter will either be present on-site or interpret remotely, according to your needs. In on-site interpreting, the interpreter and the persons being interpreted are physically in the same location. In remote interpreting, at least one of the parties is in a different location and the parties communicate via a video or audio connection. A professional interpreter is capable of comprehensive and accurate interpreting both on site and remotely and commits to non-disclosure and other obligations also in remote interpreting. Sometimes the handiest and most cost-effective interpreting method is remote interpreting via a telephone or video connection. This is a good method especially for short community interpreting sessions. Telephone interpreting is usually available even at short notice. We are happy to share information about the latest technology in the field with our conference customers. Technology enables us to organise conference interpreting remotely—and even makes it possible for participants to listen to the interpreting directly from their smartphones! We also provide interpreting of announcements and messages when the interpreter delivers an unambiguous message via telephone to the receiver of the message. Such announcements could be, for instance, a cancellation of a doctor’s appointment, a decision or a laboratory test result. Contact us to learn more about our interpreting services! The right to use one’s own language in a court of law is a basic human right. Judicial proceedings require an experienced, qualified professional interpreter who can ensure a person’s legal protection. Court interpreters are competent in the special features of legal language and established expressions in both working languages. Through our ISO-certified quality process, we only accept qualified court interpreters who meet our service’s strict quality criteria. We provide court interpreters for different courts and for processing judicial matters with authorities, such as police and immigration authority hearings.
